Comb the Mind
Comb the Mind is a zine based on an installation and performance inspired by the nearly extinct profession of the cotton carder.
Moving between childhood memories of Nowruz preparations in Iran and a contemporary performance in Zeeland, the work reflects on wool combing as a meditative, precarious, and embodied practice.
This pamphlet intends to draw a background about carding through personal memory, and historical imagery from west Asian to the east.
