“Dear Friend (of grape seeds and iron bullets)” is a book that is produced alongside Maike Hemmer’s work named Desire Digests what Moves it, in collaboration with Valentina Curandi and Baha Görkem Yalım, in the exhibition Fictioning Comfort. Much like in Maike’s work that entailed an invitation to Valentina and Görkem to engage deeply with a set of cushions, the publication has been an invitation to expand on the research they did while engaging with Maike’s cushions. Hence, the publication includes three lines of thinking by the three authors intertwined through the pages of the book; where they each think through the spatiality of their bodies at home with cushions, and a lot more.

“Eyn Eyn Eyn Stories” is a series of publications from the story to Alireza Abbasy’s audio piece at Fictioning Comfort. Each publication corresponds to one of Alireza’s audio pieces (episodes), and is a transcripted and illustrated book of each part of the story. Eyn Eyn Eyn is the name of the eccentric storyteller of a series of interconnected short stories, in which no rules of storytelling or any particular logic is strictly followed. He tells the story of a fantastical world inhabited by characters ranging from humans to animals, plants, and body parts. The stories follow the parallel worlds of these characters, and critically explore the landscapes of the art world, political activism, unconventional knowledge, queerness, alienation, friendship, drugs and wisdom.

“Toilet-paper-head” is a publication made in continuation of the film with the same name made by Alireza Abbasy for Fictioning Comfort. The narrative of the film departed from thinking about the madness around toilet paper hoarding before Covid crisis hit the Western world. It thinks about ‘tolerance’ and ‘civilisation’ in the context of crises, and through a fictional story dismantles global power relations implied in ‘peace’ and ‘First-world’ / ‘Third-world’ hierarchies. It imagines a city full of creatures with human bodies and heads of toilet paper who go to work, read, dance, play football, meet up with their friends, etc. The publication here is a starting point in expanding that fictional world, its narratives, and characters. The publication is a book of character descriptions for the Toilet-paper-head world. It is an illustrated book that includes detailed descriptions of toilet-paper characters. They call us 'residency bitch'!! Lololol

“They call us ‘Residency Bitch’!! Lololol” is a book about precarity, gentrification, borders, mattresses, artists, and migranthood. It is a publication made in correspondence over several years among two friends living and moving across oceans. Coming from their mutual work on ‘home’ and comfort, they find themselves exchanging photos of mattresses in the streets over the years, as they move houses, move studios, move in and out of (art) institutions, work and live. It is a never-finished publication that shows fragments of their correspondence, thoughts exchanged, and images of mattresses.
