Escape
by Jun Zhang ︎︎︎The quarantine workers suddenly visited Artist's studio on the mountainside. They welded the iron door of the studio firmly on the grounds of life safety. The basic food and water were delivered monthly, however all the other needs were not allowed. In order to continue his work, the artist continuously extracted materials from the mountain behind his studio to create clay sculptures. Over the years, the welded iron door has become rusty and the artist has carved a deep path from the back of the studio to the other side of the hill. On the other side of the mountain is the sea, where is the hope of escaping from this cage. Before he leave, he sets a fire and burn down his studio. The clay sculptures are reborn in the fire and become the artist's final pieces.
