The booklet “Sleepnlessness Somehow Spills Over” came out of Sarmad’s anonymous collaborative writing project between Fileona Dkhar and Flora Valeska Woudstra, Rotterdam-based artists.

Without knowing each other’s identities, Flora and Fileona were invited to write on notions of nothingness and emptiness in a shared google doc for 2.5 months.

In this book, a heartfelt dialogue unfolds as the two authors share their vulnerabilities around sleeplessness, fatigue, disability, and the feeling of being “met mijn mond vol tanden” (at a loss for words). Through this exchange, they discover a way of writing that offers them a path toward rest and pause.
